What are dental veneers?

Dental veneers are super thin layers of porcelain that Dr. Matthew Wenzel customizes to fit over the front of your teeth. Our cosmetic dentist in Webster Groves, MO bonds the veneers to your teeth to fix cosmetic concerns like:

  • Gaps between teeth
  • Chipped or broken teeth
  • Size or shape discrepancies
  • Stains or discoloration
  • Excessively worn teeth
  • Slight misalignment concerns

Dr. Matthew Wenzel, DMD can use a couple of veneers to restore a few teeth, or he can help you completely redesign your smile with six to eight veneers. Sometimes we include dental veneers as part of a more significant smile makeover treatment plan.

Completing porcelain veneers is straightforward and typically takes about two to three weeks. At your first visit, Dr. Wenzel prepares your teeth for veneers and creates temporary ones for you to wear in the interim. Then, a trusted dental lab handcrafts your final veneers, which takes about two to three weeks.

Once your final restorations are ready, you'll return to Webster Groves Dental to have Dr. Wenzel permanently place them and make any needed adjustments to your new smile.
