Infectious Disease Control & COVID-19
Dental practitioners are trained to ensure the highest standard in infectious disease control. Webster Groves Dental has always implemented the necessary protocols to keep all patients and staff safe from any infectious disease. We want all our patients to continue to feel safe when they come into our office for treatment. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have added the following additional procedures to prevent the spread of infectious disease and ensure the safety of all our patients and staff:
For the immediate future, we will not be seeing the same volume of patients we were seeing prior to the COVID-19 closure. By limiting the amount of individuals in our office, we are hoping this will reduce each individual’s exposure to the virus.
We request that when you arrive for your appointment you will call us to let us know you have arrived. We ask that you wait in your car until we can directly seat you in the treatment room. We also request you to prepay your copay or balance for treatment over the phone if possible. Please note when you call to check in and you get the voicemail, please leave a message. We will be expecting you even if we miss your call and will call back as soon as possible.
You will be asked to reschedule your appointment if you are unwell or have been in contact with a known COVID-19 exposure. We deem the right to cancel or reschedule an appointment if we deem it is not safe for you to be treated. If possible, we also request that only individuals who are being seen come into the office.
Once you do enter our office, we will have hand sanitizer to use and we will require you to put on a mask. If you do not have one, our office will provide you with one. We will require you to wear your mask on at all times prior to and immediately after treatment. You will be given a pre-screening health form to fill out before being treated. Before we begin your treatment, you will be asked to rinse with a solution (Listerine with hydrogen peroxide) that will help eliminate bacteria and viruses in your mouth.
We have purchased new equipment to help reduce aerosols. Our clinical staff will be using additional PPE (personal protective equipment) and routinely disinfecting commonly touched surfaces (door knobs, pens, counters, etc). As always, all equipment is disinfected / sterilized after each patient is seen. Outside of treatment, we will keep social distancing as much as possible in a dental office.
Additionally, we are screening staff members everyday.
Please be aware we are doing everything we can to minimize the risk of COVID-19; however, as is the case with any public setting there is a risk of COVID-19 exposure. We understand if you feel uncomfortable coming to your appointment and would prefer to reschedule. Please note: During the COVID-19 pandemic, our costs to provide safe dental services to protect our patients and staff have significantly increased. The cost of basic supplies have increased by well over 500% as well as the cost to implement additional infectious disease protocols and equipment to limit airborne pathogens. For a period, patients will be billed a $10 "PPE fee" per visit. If we are in network with your insurance, this will likely be covered in full by your insurance company.
